FITNESS BALL EXERCISES

Welcome to the fitness ball exercises page. Please click the appropriate link below to access a selection exercises related to those body parts, or continue reading to find out about the advantages of being ‘on the ball!’

Using the ball to train is an affordable and easy means of training at home, or a great alternative to standard exercises used in a gym or health club setting.

So what are the advantages with using the ball?

Well, when using the ball it is obviously not a stable object. To keep the ball stable (and to prevent you falling off!) requires coordination and balance skills.

With a fit ball you are subconsciously using core stabilizing muscles (lower back and abdominals) which is what you miss out on with many traditional exercises in the gym. Balance and coordination are important aspects of every day life which makes it a more ‘functional’ training method.

In short, you achieve a more effective and functional workout. You can definitely continue with traditional exercises, as I still do, and as a fitness professional I highly recommend incorporating ball exercises into your training.
