I
had a question proposed to me the other day…
‘What would you say is the best and most useful training tool?’ After a
brief couple of seconds scanning through all the equipment I have, and
have read about, it became blatantly obvious. The answer…
Your
mind.
As part of my profession within the Health and
Fitness industry, I have had an opportunity to get great insight in to
the way people think, and see the differences in those who succeed and
those who don’t.
The way you think plays a
crucial role in
determining whether or not you reach your health and fitness desires or
not.
"It is good to have an end to journey toward; but it is the journey
that matters, in the end." - Ursula K. LeGuin
Setting goals will immediately lay out the floor
plan for what you must do to achieve them. Now think about this. The
new you is a different person to the one you currently are. The way you
think at this moment in time, and in the past, has brought you to where
you are at present. In order to become that new person, you have to
step in to the shoes of that new person. If you looked in to the mind
of the person you would like to be, would they think like you at the
moment? The obvious answer is ‘no’. Why? Because if the person you
would like to be thinks the same as you right now and as you have in
the past with regard to health and fitness, wouldn’t you be that person
now???
Its funny, we seem to always be looking for the
motivational fitness secret, the best diet, food, exercise program, or supplement that will help us lose
fat, gain muscle etc. What is even funnier is the fact that those 10
minute abs infomercials are still around and people still believe it!!!
I think we may even be down to 6 minute abs now. Soon we will be down
to ‘click your fingers abs!’ The media are rubbing their hands together
collecting pennies off of the way the majority of us think.
Right about
here is where most of us have
difficulty. Here's a motivational fitness tip that takes more
'understanding' than 'doing'. We literally have to step outside of
ourselves, create new habits, and a new way of thinking. In return, you
will reach your goals. Simple really isn’t it! In theory it is, but in
reality there’s a good mixture of emotional and psychological pain
associated with this. Hmm, could that be a good reason we see soooo
many people not achieve their desires, not only with fitness, but also
with business, relationships, and finance?
Not the motivational fitness tip you were after was
it??
Don’t let that ‘emotional and psychological pain’
thing scare you though. Let me put it this way, if you don’t face up to
it you will
never change! You will
never
have the chance to taste success. You will
never
know what endless possibilities await you in this life. You will go on
looking for the next best thing whether it be a fad diet or 6 minute
abs.
Facing up to the emotional and psychological pain
guarantees
success.
The
main point I would like to stress within this motivational fitness page
is the power of you mind. Now this is a topic of MASSIVE proportions
with which I cannot possibly cover in one page on this website. Keep an
eye out for an ebook that I will be making available to my visitors. It
will cover this topic in great detail. Until then, make use of the
motivational fitness links I have provided on this page.
Additional Resource
For more information regarding your mind and how it may effect your own
progress I highly recommend the link I have listed below. It
compliments this page and then some! Apart from providing
information regarding weight loss/gain, it is a valuable resource for
making a positive move in relationships, health, and wealth.
Psychology is the last thing people look at in relation to success, but
it is literally the be all and end all and I can't emphasize it's
importance enough.
